Fiji uses the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Card payments are widely accepted at hotels, resorts, and larger shops, though smaller towns and local markets operate primarily on cash, so it is worth carrying smaller notes for day-to-day spending.

Fiji is generally considered a safe destination with a welcoming local population. Petty theft can occur in busy areas such as markets and transport hubs, so standard precautions around valuables are sensible, particularly after dark in urban centres.
